SOUTHAMPTON-BASED Olympic and Commonwealth diver Peter Waterfield came overall sixth place at the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) Diving World Cup in China last week (June 2 until 6, 2010).
Peter came sixth in the men’s 10 metre individual dive and also sixth in the men’s 10 metre synchronised dive with his diving partner, Max Brick.
The 29-year-old, who won the first medal for Great Britain at the 2004 Olympics, explained: “I am delighted with my results. For Max and I this is our personal best, which is a great achievement.
“It’s great to know that I can still compete with the best in the world and I am now looking forward to the Commonwealth Games later this year.”
Peter was awarded a score of 500.40 in the final of the 10 metre individual platform event. He also scored 427.28 for his 10 metre synchronised dive with Max.
