Peter Waterfield
           Olympic Diver
Welcome to my website
Welcome to the official website for Olympic and Commonwealth Games medallist, high and spring board diver, Peter Waterfield, who is one of Great Britain’s gold medal hopes for London 2012.

The 28-year-old, who won the first medal for Great Britain at the 2004 Olympics, won three gold medals at the 2010 British Gas National Cup in Sheffield in February. He was awarded a score of 523.65 in the men’s 10 metre individual dive, beating World Champion Tom Daley to first place by 40.05 points.

At the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) Diving Grand Prix in Germany, which also took place in February, Pete scooped a silver medal. He beat current Olympic champion, Matt Mitcham, who won the gold medal for Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, in the semi-final and the final of the 10 metre individual platform event with a score of 510.20.

Pete also achieved the highest individual place at a World Championships by a British diver ever at the World Aquatics Championships in Rome last July (2009).

Pete trains with the holder of a Helen Rollason medal for the best female UK Sports Coach of the Year 2005 and the British Olympic Team Manager, Lindsey Fraser, in Southampton, which is fast becoming the Mecca for Olympic and national diving hopefuls.

Pete says: “To win three gold medals at the National Cup is a great start to 2010 and has filled me with confidence for the World Cup and Commonwealth Games later this year, as well as the 2012 Olympic Games.”
